Custom Drapes, Window Treatments and Interior Design in Fairfield CT from Interior Designer Tami Smight
It appears you are in the market for some home improvement advice since you have landed on my website. Thank you for visiting! I offer Fairfield, CT my full menu of design services such as custom window fashions (think Roman shades, custom draperies, custom fabric valances, natural woven shades and more), color consultations (very helpful before the painter arrives), and material selections for a bathroom and/or kitchen renovation (and more)
I built my southern California interior design business with integrity and passion. Each client regarded me as a trusted advisor and advocate, a guide through the design process. When relocating my home and business to Fairfield County Connecticut I continue my commitment to serve my client’s best interest above all else. Your design project begins with a complimentary phone conversation about your needs and how my design services can best serve you. We can then follow the initial phone call with an in-home consultation to explore your design preferences, discuss your budget and confirm the scope of the project. This meeting allows me to prepare a design fee proposal for your review and consideration. In-home design consultations are easily scheduled considering I am based in neighboring Weston.
Clients often are guarded when asked what budget they have allocated for a project. I get that! Perhaps they are concerned that if they give me a number, I am going to spend it all. That is not the case at all. I ask for a budget so I can honor it and educate you in the overall cost of the project. One of the benefits of working with me as your designer, is my flat rate design fee. Because I am transparent as to what my design fee compensation is, you can see the budget for your materials and labor is completely separate from the design fee.
There are many moving parts to a project like a kitchen renovation with contractors, plumbing fixtures, flooring choices, backsplash tile, counter top material, appliances, cabinet style and hardware, lighting, paint, and accessories. Part of my task as your designer is to give you clarity and certainty in all of the choices you are making, as well as a realistic budget, itemizing the cost of each proposed design element and gathering a bid from your contractor for executing the design. So whether you work with a designer, or go it alone, a budget really is a necessary step in starting your project. It will cause you to give serious consideration to every element of the project and how much you are willing and able to invest in the project.
I blog about great places in the area and design topics too. Here is one on Bringing the Ocean Colors Inside.
Interior Design is a beloved passion of mine, and I hope to make it as equally enjoyable for you. It comes down to helping people. It thrills me to no end to help express my client’s idea of a beautiful home.
After all, why do you work so hard if not to return to a safe haven to replenish and renew your spirit and connect with loved ones?
Home is where we celebrate birthdays and holidays, where we raise our children and create memories.
That is my highest calling as a designer, to create a beautiful and functional space that my client anticipates returning to at the end of the day.
I believe you deserve a home which will rise up to meet when you walk in the door.
Let’s create it together!
