Kitchen in Weston CT Colonial

It all began with… this is what I am most often told from new clients, when they phone me to ask for design guidance. Many times the scope of the project increases, as we rarely can isolate a change in a 60 year home to just the kitchen, or just the bathroom.

In our case, we purchased a 1961 Colonial in dire need of a kitchen update. We were no exception… the kitchen spilled over to the dining room, and the family room.

As you can see the kitchen is rather closed off. The previous owners had an octagon shaped island – configured at an angle to optimize TV viewing. We want to open up the kitchen to dining room to family room, to suit how we live.

The current family room is shrunk with a built-in dining nook. We intend to remove that and make the family room simply a family room, no dining.
