Custom Drapes, Window Treatments and Interior Design in Westport CT from Interior Designer Tami Smight
Having designed coastal homes in California for thirteen years, my design sensibilities are a great match for Westport interior designer clients. The local architecture boasts varied lot sizes, antique and vintage homes and a great mix of styles from modern cottages to traditional estates. What strikes me as really unique about Westport homes is working with the amazing quality of light. Wall color will behave differently throughout the day, because of the amazing light. Choosing a wall color palette really is important for your seaside Connecticut home. Paint consultations are one of my design services that I am asked to do often, because although paint color is the most affordable design element and can transform the feeling of a room instantly, selecting the colors can be a daunting task, especially when you have the painter lined up for next week and NO IDEA what colors you want!
Beyond paint consultations, I am delighted to offer my full menu of services to Westport Connecticut clients, such as custom window fashions (including drapery, valances, Roman Shades, blinds, Natural Woven Shades and the full Hunter Douglas product line), Full Interior Design and Project Management for your home renovation project, simple hourly consultations for guidance on a small project, Material Selection for your kitchen or bath renovation. Do you want to pick my brain and review items you have selected for a project? Let’s do it! I come to your home and share information and guide you in firming up choices (be ready to take notes).
A Westport design client was concerned about adding design elements to her home, while honoring the style of her home. “I really want this contemporary wall paper, but my home is a Cape Cod, will it work?” she asked me for guidance. I suggested we start with a wall paper in her main level powder room. It is so much fun to take a small space and go big in scale. So I specified a large scale contemporary Arabesque pattern in navy, which was still honoring the Cape Cod, nautical feel of the home (navy) while satisfying my clients desire for a more contemporary pattern (Arabesque). When it comes to selecting a wall covering for your home, it is important that YOU like it. So then, it won’t feel trendy and you are less likely to tire of it.
For the outside of the home, here is a great local place I found: Terrain Store and Garden Cafe in Westport CT
Interior Design is a beloved passion of mine, and I hope to make it as equally enjoyable for you. It comes down to helping people. It thrills me to no end to help express my client’s idea of a beautiful home.
After all, why do you work so hard if not to return to a safe haven to replenish and renew your spirit and connect with loved ones?
Home is where we celebrate birthdays and holidays, where we raise our children and create memories.
That is my highest calling as a designer, to create a beautiful and functional space that my client anticipates returning to at the end of the day.
I believe you deserve a home which will rise up to meet when you walk in the door.
Let’s create it together!
